We tried la search for the relationship between the location of myocardial infarction and the resulting complications in patients hokspitalized in the coronary care unit of the Teaching Hospital of Selçuk University with the diagnosis of myocardial infarction. Among fifty patients most of them suffered from anteriorly localized tnyocardial infarction which was followed by inferiorly localized myocardial infarction. The most cotnrnon complications were noticed iri anteriorly localized infarction whereas complications of inferiorly localized rnyocarclial infarction was of secondary frequency.

Immunoglobulin and complernent levels were studied in patients having acute stress and depression. The relatives of the patients (22 of them) who 12re either canser or myocardial infarcts were treated as stressed patients, and patients (22 of them) determined to be depressed by DSM-III criteria and 22 normal people respectively, were selected for !his study. Blood samples (5 mi) were taken from thern intravenou-sly. IgA, 1gM, IgG, C3 and C4 level of the sera were determined by radial irnmunodiffusion technique. The values were analyzed by multiple regression analysis and it was found that neither stress nor depression has any affeci or relationship with the serum IgM, IgG, and C3 and C4 levels. However, IgA levels in the sera of depressed patients significantly remained higher than the control group (p<0.05).

It is known that different factors, not a single one, play a role in the formation of cancer, which is accepted to develop as a result of a "mutation" in a normal cell. These factors also differ for the tissue or organ in which the cancer develops. Determining the factors that affect the etiology of a cancer requires complex approaches and studies. However, in general, it is possible to group cancer-related factors as those that increase the risk of cancer, those that reduce the risk of cancer, and those that cause cancer. Diet constitutes a "community of factors" associated with all three groups. This review has been prepared to investigate the effect of diet on various organ cancers and to reveal the measures that can be taken in the light of the information obtained.

In this study, six patients with acute intestinal obstructions due to phytobezoars is presented, All of patients had previous gastric surgery for ulcer disease and had a history of persimrnon or orange ingestion. Whole patients were treated surgically. Five patients were applied close decompreiion and one patient was applied opera decompretion (enterotomy) A patient was reoperated twice because of relapse and intussusception. Consequently, patients who have undergone gastric surgery for ulcer disease should be warned about not tü eat persimmon or orange with their fibers.

Eye movernents during reading in 5 completely deaf-mute subjects were electrooculographically recorded. It was notable that electrooculographical patterns showed large saccads and fixations with long duration. As expected the deaf-mutes were considered ta read with non-phonological reading process. However the results motivated for further quantitative study.

in this study, we investigated the relation of fibrocystic disease and carcinoma of the breast. We tok specimens from every quadrani of breasts removed for carcinoma, which have been sent to Department of Pathology from Department of Sur,gery for pathologic examination. We wanted to investigate the fibrocystic disease together with carcinorna. Among 18 specimens we found that fibrocystic disease together with carcinoma was 55,6%, and thought that there might be a relation between fibrocystic disease and carcinoma of the breast, we tizus concluded that fibrocystic disease might be a predispose to a breast carcinoma.
